High Elf Army Progress

Posted by Thebadbishop on June 5, 2010 at 12:02 PM

Well I'm making this blog to share with everyone the progress of my white and green high elf army. I am new to WHFB (and the hobby as a whole)?and enjoying?the?it very much :)

?

Thus far i have assembled five archers, painted one and partially assembled 11.

?

The unit i painted was with cheap paint i found at ace hardware andi like the colors i chose but the paint was very sticky and hard to apply to the unit so i think i might have to take the paint off with paint thinner and try again with some other types of paints (suggestions would be helpful :) )

?

l have an album in the photos section showing some of my models.

?

I am very open to constructive criticism so pleas comment

other types of paint? Use citadels paints! there the best!

Use color paints for general coloring! http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/armySubUnitCats.jsp?cat

Use foundation paints to apply a kind of colored base coat instead of several diffrent coats! (mix with water) http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/armySubUnitCats.jsp?cat

Hope that helps!!

If you use any type of solvent based chemicals it will melt details or the whole mini if it is plastic! The best solution i have found for stripping mini's, plastic or metal is to get some simple green and soak your minis for a few days in that, making sure not to dilute it at all. Brake fluid works as well but is much more toxic, so ymmv. I really recommend citadel, vallejo, or reaper paints. NCRP has a good selection of Citadel and some Vallejo paints.
